Description:
This 2 day instructor certification course is designed to certify participants to instruct others on the use of the X26 TASER® Electronic Control Devices. Admission to this course is open to sworn law enforcement and active duty military personnel. If you are a private security professional or other, please refer to the "Training Course Descriptions" page for information that must be submitted before registering for this course.
This course has an online component that MUST be completed prior to attending the practical portion of instruction with a TASER Master Instructor. Once registered, the participant will receive an email confirmation from NWTC with their username and password. This will allow them to access the Blackboard online training. Course space is limited.
New persons certifying as an instructor will need to complete four hours of online training and attend BOTH practical days. Re-certifying TASER Instructors will need to complete eight hours of online training and the SECOND day (Day 2) of the practical session.
REMINDER:
New certifications - complete the 4 hour online training block and attend BOTH days of the practical session
Re-certifications - complete the 8 hour online training block and attend the second listed practical date (Day 2 of the session)

- Weapon technology overview
- Proper weapon function and deployment
- Safety consideration for weapon deployment
- Use of force and its documentation
- Weapon care and maintenance
- Use of TASER® Instructional materials provided
Equipment Required:
- Duty belt without firearms, ammunition, or weapons of any kind
- Department issued TASER holster, if applicable. Holsters will be available for those who need them
Dress Requirements:
- Comfortable athletic attire, please no shorts
- Footwear that permits movement in all directions
