Description
The Use of Force Instructor certification course is a MUST for any instructor responsible for teaching force related topics: such as firearms, defensive tactics, intermediate weapons, etc. This course will provide intensive training on force related issues including, but not limited to: Supreme Court and other court related decisions, liabilities associated with the application of force options, as well as issues within your organization linked to force related training. This course is intended to enhance the participant’s ability to deliver training related to his or her organization’s use of force policies. An additional benefit derived from this training will be the instructor’s ability to effectively discuss force issues with individuals within the community and/or legal settings.
Topics to be covered:
- Developing the Warrior's Mindset and the Combat Athlete
- Force model evaluations
- Proper documentation of force related events
- Threat identification and assessment
- Federal standards for acceptable levels of force by law enforcement
- Relevant training standards
- Considerations for developing force related training
- Liability issues associated with the application of force
- Tracking use of force issues
- Deposition and courtroom testimony
Participants who attend the 2-Day course may expect the following:
- An increased understanding of the court related decisions regarding force
- A complete understanding of many of the force models in use today
- An increased level of confidence when presenting force related materials in the civilian and/or legal environments
- A new perspective on assisting your organization in developing force related policies and training
